In his biographical dictionary, Ibn Khallikan, listed Ibn al Shahrazuri as one of the most notable figures in Islamicate history. Because of the excellence of the ode and the impact Ibn al Shahrazuri had on subsequent sufi poets, Ibn Khallikan was so impressed by it that he chose to include the entire ode in his biography.
