Kurdish governors in 15th-century Spain

Letters written to the Spanish Christian side in the fifteenth century mention Abu al-Qasim al-Kurdi. The letters show that the Muslim side is making an effort to maintain a long-term ceasefire and harmony between the two sides. Setenil was ruled by Abu al Qasim and his son Ahmad.

One of Spain's final Muslim strongholds was Setenil. Continuous sieges were imposed on the town between 1407 and 1484. When Ahmad was the governor in 1484, the town was taken after numerous efforts. After the town was taken, Ahmad and his extended family managed to survive. By the end of the 15th century, family members were mentioned in court records. They relocated to Morocco after leaving Andalusia.
