The boundaries of Shahrazur & the myth of Zahhak in the 13th-century

The 13th century historian, Yaqut al Rumi, mentions the boundaries of Shahrazur, which did differ according to authors, and an early version of the myth of Zahhak being linked to a Kurdish region:

Shahrazur is in the fourth region. It is a wide district in the mountains between Arbil and Hamadan, its founder was Zur, the son of Zahhak, and the meaning of Shahr in Persian is city. The people of these areas are all Kurds.
